The GefenTV 4x1 AV Processor with Amp is the perfect addition to your Home Theater System. Enjoy DVD or Blu-ray movies with surround sound or create the ultimate gaming experience. With its compact size, it offers an alternative to large overly-complicated Home Theater Receivers.
The 4x1 AV Processor with Amp converts and decodes audio from the four HDMI inputs, the coaxial and optical digital inputs, the left and right analog inputs, using its built-in 5.1 channel Dolby® Digital and Dolby® ProLogic II Surround processor for an unbelievable home theater experience. Speakers can be connected directly to its internal seven audio amplifiers, or the seven preamp outputs can be connected to a multi-channel audiophile amplifier. The subwoofer preamp output connects to any powered subwoofer. The internal power amplifiers deliver up to 50 watts per channel RMS and feature five-way binding post speaker terminals for a secure speaker wire connection. To provide a more dynamic sound quality to your speaker system, front left and front right amplifier and preamp-level outputs may be used to bi-amplify sound to the two front main channels. When a different digital or analog audio input is selected, the previously selected Hi-Def video source continues to output HD video to the display. This feature allows users to simultaneously watch video from the source while listening to a different audio selection.
The 4x1 AV Processor with Amp features an easy-to-read LCD menu display that facilitates the setup and calibration of the Dolby® processor and individually displays the calibration settings for the size, distance, and output levels of each speaker. The unit has a single Trigger Input and single Trigger Output terminals to allow system integration. The unit can be controlled using the front-panel push buttons, the included IR remote, or from an automation system using its RS-232 port.
How It Works
The GefenTV 4x1 AV Processor with Amp switches four HDMI sources, using (4) GEFEN-supplied HDMI cables. Use the supplied TOSLINK® or a S/PDIF cable to connect two digital audio sources to the individual coaxial and optical inputs. Use Left/Right RCA cables to connect a stereo analog audio source to the RCA inputs. Connect a locking HDMI cable from the HDMI output of the AV Processor to any HDTV display. If you are using external multi-channel power amplifiers that have provisions for remote power control, connect the 12V Trigger Out from the processor to the amplifier's trigger input. Connect the included 24V power supply and plug the AC power cord into an available electrical outlet. Control the processor using the front-panel buttons, the supplied IR remote control, an RS-232 automation device, or the Trigger Input terminals on the rear of the unit. Connect the processor's Trigger Output to activate a 12V-controlled AC power strip or surge protector to power on the sources, HDTV display, powered subwoofer, and other equipment that is part of your AV system whenever the AV Processor is turned on, and turn them off to conserve energy when the system is not in use.
