CE labs recommendation: TIA/EIA-568-B. High quality CAT 5e, CAT6, CAT6a, CAT7 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair)/STP (Shielded Twisted Pair ) or FTP (Foiled Twisted Pair) cables.

Cable length must be less than 15 ft between HDMI extender and wall connectors (RJ45 jacks).
CAT5e/6/6a/7 wire must be away from any device, wire, cable, etc. that generate EMI (electromagnetic interference)
Examples: Microwave, cellular phones, radio equipment, fluorescent lamps, high-voltage power lines.
DO NOT use regular CAT5 cable. It does not have enough bandwidth.
DO NOT connect to any network.
DO NOT use stranded cable.
DO NOT place the IR emitter and IR pickup facing each other. This could cause interference.
