We carry Gigabit Ethernet Switching Hubs, SFP media slots, modular switches, L2 managed plus SNMP managed switches
There are two main types of Gigabit Switching Hubs - Unmanaged and Managed.
Unmanaged Switching just means that the switch is set up through it's firmware and there is no way to change it's configuration by changing port speeds, turning ports on or off, set up VLAN's or Trunks, etc.
Managed Switching means their is an onboard configuration utility (usually accessed via web browser) which allows you to set transmission speed (10/100/1000Mbps) , operation mode (Full/Half duplex) , on each port, enable/disable ports, set VLAN groups, and trunk location.
L2 switching allows packets to be switched in the network based on their MAC (Media Access Control) address. When a packet arrives at the switch, the switch checks the packet's destination MAC address and, if known, sends the packet to the output port with that previously known MAC address.
