DIGI-9636

Product Details

24 Bit 96 KHz, 36 Channel 3 x ADAT, S/PDIF, ADAT Sync, Digital Audio Multitrack System.

OVERVIEW

Project Hammerfall (DIGI9652) is just another milestone set by RME. No
other digital audio interface card has got so many enthusiastic
users in such a short time.

If you don't need word clock or third ADAT I/O port then now is the
time to get our latest Hammerfall technology for even less money:
Hammerfall Light equals Project Hammerfall, but is sold without
Expansion Board.

The optional Expansion Board turns the Light into a fully equipped
DIGI9652 at any time.

Hammerfall Light also allows to connect further Expansion Boards
(EXB). One internal ADAT input and two internal ADAT outputs allow you
to realize up to 8 analog inputs, 16 analog outputs or even one
TDIF interface directly inside the computer.

* 2 x ADAT digital I/O, based on RME's reliable Bitclock PLL
* 1 x SPDIF digital I/O, based on RME's reliable DIGI96 technology
* 1 x ADAT Sync In (9-pin D-type) for sample accurate transfers
* 1 x Breakout cable for coaxial SPDIF operation
* Zero wait state PCI Busmaster interface with additional burst FIFO
(130 MB/s transfer rate in both directions)
* No drop out problems at high PCI bus load
* New hardware design: 36 mono channels in block mode, organized in 32
bit ASIO double buffers
* ASIO poured in hardware! The result in speed and performance is 0
(zero!)% CPU load when using ALL 36 channels!
* 130 MB/s transfer rate for record and playback results in only 7%
PCI bus load when using all 36 channels
* New Enhanced Zero Latency Monitoring, now operational even with
different sample rates at input and output
* S/MUX poured in hardware: 8 channels 96 kHz/24 bit for record and
playback

...and numerous other features found already in the DIGI96 series
cards - for a price that can't be beaten!

The Hammerfall series offers drivers for Windows 98/ME (MME with multi-
client operation, ASIO 2.0, GSIF), Windows NT and Windows 2000/XP
(full multi-client operation of MME, GSIF and ASIO 2.0), MacOS
(ASIO 2.0) and Linux (ALSA.)

SETTINGS

Just click on the hammer symbol in the systray of the taskbar and the
settings dialog of the DIGI9636 comes up. The clear structured,
easy to understand window plus the unique informative status
windows for input signal, clock mode, sample rate and time code
make your work with Hammerfall Light to a real pleasure. With a
simple mouse click (or a freely configurable key shortcut) you
gain access to the full power of your card.

When working with several digital sources it is not only necessary
that these are all properly locked, they also have to be totally
synchronized. Else drop outs and crackling occurs. RME's exclusive
SyncCheck checks all input signals and displays their actual state.

A display of the time code at the ADAT Sync-In port offers a quick
check of the communication between external device and Hammerfall.
