Audio Zones with Advanced DSP FeaturesThe 2278 zone card provides more than just analog audio switching. Using advanced digital signal processing, our exclusive ExpressRamp™ volume control, ZQ™ 10-band equalization, plus tone and balance control is available for each audio zone. Download the free ZQ iPad app template for Command Fusion.
Equalization ZQ™ 10-band equalization provides individual controls to correct for room acoustics. ZQ can be adjusted easily using the HLX PC Utility, and fine tuning can be performed on the HLX front panel menu or via any 3rd party touchpanel controller. Volume ControlExpressRamp™ volume control enables volume in any zone to be set to a specific level via one command. It prevents abrupt volume changes by ramping up or down to the target volume level quickly and smoothly. Incremental volume commands are provided, and volume can also be set to a specific level without using ExpressRamp. Adjustable via PC utility, HLX front panel menu, or 3rd party touch panel.Tone ControlsTone controls (bass and treble) modify the audio signals in a zone after the equalization algorithms have been applied. Adjustable via PC utility, HLX front panel menu, or 3rd party touch panel.BalanceBalance controls allow the installer to further compensate for room acoustics between left and right speakers. Adjustable via PC utility, HLX front panel menu, or 3rd party touch panel.Zone TrackingThe 2278 may be used for independent audio zones, but if an audio zone should track a video zone, the HLX zone tracking feature can be employed. Using serial or Ethernet commands, any zone can be made to track with any other zone, so that when one zone is switched to a new source input, the other zone also switches. See the HLX user manual for details.
