Cradlepoint CBA250 Cellular Broadband Adapter

Cradlepoint CBA250

Simple Solution
The CradlePoint CBA250 Cellular Broadband Adapter provides IP Pass-Through capabilities for a LAN device requiring wireless broadband access*. For most applications, simply connect the CBA250, turn the unit on and it’s ready to go. The CBA250 handles the connection without configuration and provides enhanced network connectivity with support for USB and ExpressCard modems running on EVDO and HSPA. Adding a wireless back-up or even primary connection has never been easier.

Powerful, Reliable, Convenient
As a high-performance adapter The CBA250 supports multiple and concurrent application streams for the attached LAN device converting Ethernet to cellular and cellular to Ethernet. This flexible connectivity solution is platform independent, features two operating modes (configuration and IP-Pass through) and an “always-on” signal strength meter to determine the best cellular reception for optimum placement. The CBA250 is truly a “drop-in” solution for adding cellular wireless broadband capability.

1- The user experience with devices running Windows Mobile is less robust than other phones and modems. Windows Mobile devices connected to either a PC or a CradlePoint router have exhibited erratic behavior while using data sharing capabilities. Issues include frequent disconnects for no apparent reason and remedies entail frequent rebooting the phone and or removing the phone's battery. This problem is not something that can be resolved by CradlePoint Technology and will need to be addressed by the phone manufacturer. Please refer to our release notes.

2 - These modems can take up to 2.5 minutes to make a data connection. In our tests, they appear to spend a long time attempting to get a signal before they can make a data connection. The Ultra seems to connect more quickly in our tests. Note that the the Ultra Express' performance in the router is not as good as in the PC. This modem works with the router, but if you have a choice any of the other GSM modems such as the Novatel or Sierra Wireless are more compatible.
