Atlona Technologies’ new 3G SDI over fiber optic extender, the AT-3GSDI20SR , is one of the worlds smallest 3G/HD-SDI baluns ever. This UL/CE approved unit allows users to transfer 1080P HDSDI signal at 3Gb/s, supporting a single channel SMPTE-424M 3G HD-SDI, SMPTE-292M HD or SMPTE-259M serial digital video signal, over single or multi mode fiber. This feature rich extender requires no adjustments from users, making setup quick and painless. The AT-3GSDI20SR supports a wide variety of video formats including SDI, DVB-ASI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI. This balun connects to inputs through a BNC type connector, fiber is connected through ST-type fiber optic cable. Multiple signals can be installed in a single conduit without crosstalk. The power connector has a latch-locking mechanism, thus no power disruption due to mis-handling problem.
Applications: With use of Fiber Optics, rather than CAT, this US manufactured product is perfect for government and hospitals. Signal flow through Fiber will not interfere with medical equipment. In the case of government use, Fiber is more beneficial for security purposes. While CAT 5 can be spliced to in order to extract information, Fiber cannot be terminated, keeping information safe.
