Not only is the Docking connector 100% iPod, iPad, and iPhone Compatible for Audio, Sync and Charging, but you get outputs for car or home audio systems as well as a seperate Mini Plug Input jack that goes to both the car and Home audio output as well.

How to use it?
ipod connection

You can use the "Input" Docking connector or 3.5mm Mini plug connector. The iPod Docking connector should be used with an iPod, iPhone or an iPad for the best possible sound quality. Use the 3.5mm Stereo Mini plug connector from your Mp3 Player or Laptop.
laptop connection

The "Output" 3.5mm Stereo Mini plug should connect to your Cars "Aux" mini jack connector or your "Boom Box's mini Jack. The Dual RCA Plugs connect to an unused connection on your stereo or home theater system. Usually "Aux" or some other connection is free. Do not use your "Phono" connection! The phono connection is for very low level signals.

Note: Your ipod/iphone/ipad volume control will not work with the Line output (Docking Connector) connection. You should use the connected device for control of the volume.
