Windows 2000/XP 1394 support
Changing to the Microsoft Camcorder Driver:First of all, you will not be able to see your driver for the camcorder unless it is connected and turned on, otherwise it will not show up.
Right clicking the "My computer" Icon on your desktop and selecting "properties" is the easiest way to get into "Device Manager".
You will then need to look under "Sound Video and game Controllers".You need to click the littlee "plus" sign (+) to see what's under the catagory. If ti has a "1394 DV Camcorder" in there, you are using the TI (Texas Instruments) driver. Depending on your 1394 card and camcorder, this could work better or worse than the Microsoft driver.

"Right-click" the 1394 DV Camcorder entry and select "Properties". Click the "Driver" tab and then click the "Update Driver" button.

When the "Update Driver Wizard" starts, click "Next" on the first screen. Then make sure the "Search for a suitable driver for my device" button is selected before clicking "Next".

Uncheck all the search options to force Windows to use its own driver. Click "Next".

Since it could not find a driver Windows now lets you choose your own.

Choose the Microsoft DV Camera and VCR" driver rather than the Texas Instruments driver.

Click "Finish" and you're done!
