DisplayPort is the new digital display interface standard used to connect a computer to its Display. Displayport was designed to replace VGA and DVI and be a complement to HDMI.
Note: The Displayport video signal is not compatible with VGA, DVI or HDMI, but a DisplayPort connector can pass these signals through. Your Displayport Device must be a "multi-mode" device that implements both Displayport as well as the desired interconnection interface - VGA, DVI or HDMI, in order to use a cable or adapter for conversion.
