Gefen EXT-GEFENTV-SIGGEN, HDMI Calibration Signal Generator

Product Details

Gefen TV 1080p HDMI Signal Generator.

Evaluate, Calibrate and Test Digital Video Equipment

The GefenTV Signal Generator is a hand-portable, cost-effective testing
tool that allows installers to locate and eliminate problems with HDTV
Equipment and Displays, as well as calibrate equipment, in a quick yet
sophisticated manner on-the-spot.
Besides video patterns, the generator also supports 3 types of audio
testing signal, one built-in sine wave, one external analog audio,
and one external digital audio input through TOSlink. The GefenTV
Signal Generator also works with Standard Definition or High
Definition video resolutions.
Control of the GefenTV Signal Generator is easy and intuitive. You can
use the on-panel buttons or download the Windows software
application to perform advanced control, such as timing/pattern
programming and the reading and writing of EDID (display
identification data).
Save Time and Money by Finding Trouble Spots in Minutes
The GefenTV Signal Generator isn't just for finding troubles with
specific video equipment. The Generator provides real-time testing
of entire A/V configurations, eliminating snafus in minutes, saving
costly labor. Ad-Hoc testing of SD and HD TV configurations often
involves exchanging A/V components and/or ferrying equipment between
locations. With the TV Signal Generator, these time-consuming
practices can be avoided.
Fully HDCP Compliant
This device is HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection)
compliant, making it compatible with all HDTV content and displays.
HDCP is a standard data encryption scheme encoded into the DVI
signal to prevent videos from being copied. HDCP was adopted in 2004
by the entertainment industry. If an HDCP-encoded video source is
connected to a HDTV display without the proper HDCP decoding
mechanism, the picture is relegated to "snow" or a very low (480P)
resolution. To avoid this situation the video source, the display
and any device in between must be equipped with HDCP software key decoding devices.
The GefenTV Signal Generator includes an HDCP verification test (Pattern
#39) which is useful for insuring that all devices in the video path
are correctly passing the HDCP protocol.
How it works
Simply connect your Standard Definition or High Definition television
source (with HDMI video adapter if DVI) to the HDMI input port on
the GefenTV Signal Generator. Connect the output port of the GefenTV
Signal Generator to your display. Power up the GefenTV Signal
Generator. Activate the On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu, select the
test that you would like to perform, and you're done.
