The 2800 series of HD-IP™ products is perfectly suited to digital signage and other video distribution applications. The system is capable of transmitting 1080p video content up to 250 feet in one run without any loss of quality, and supports an almost unlimited number of HDTV displays. Using Gigabit Ethernet technology, picture quality is maximized while overcoming the slow handshake times, poor cable integrity, and distance limitations of traditional HDMI distribution amplifiers. Using off-the-shelf Gigabit IP switches, a system can be extended for even more distance, or expanded to add more displays. This plug and play system is incredibly simple to install - just connect a single Cat 5e or Cat 6 from the 2801 transmitter to a gigabit switch, then feed the cables from the switch to a network of 2811 receivers.
Q: How many HDTVs can the 2800 series system support? A: Matrix applications controlled by the HD-232 can have up to 64 zones. Single source applications have no set maximum system size limit.Q: Does the 2800 Series comply with content protection standards?A: Yes. The 2800 Series complies with HDCP 2.0 for the source-to-transmitter and receiver-to-display connections, and complies with the approved 128-bit AES encryption standards for the transmitter to receiver connection (IP connections).
Q: Does the 2800 series support 1080i video? A: The 2800 series supports 480p, 720p and 1080p video only – use a scaler such as our Model 1388 to scale video to 1080p for distribution to video displays. The 1388 can be used at the head end to scale source video output, or at individual zones for video displays.
